Failure is actually success.

Hi, It is my first time writing something that stuck with me from the moment it happened to where I am now.

The story goes like this:

I was in grade 4 and every year World Wildlife Fund used to organize a science fair. The main point in conducting the fair was to highlight the importance of wildlife and the dangers it faces. The team of which I was part of our school decided to do a project on the Blind Indus Dolphin, it is considered an endangered species because of immense poaching and habitat destruction.
The project was prepared and it was one of a kind but unfortunately, was chosen to present the project, this was my first time presenting my school at a national level and I thought that I was ready but it was my mistake to think it like that.
Anyways the judges came and I completely froze, not being able to speak the judges left disappointed and I could see my team disappointed in me. The only person who was looking with a hope was my science teacher mother.
She came and handed me a bottle of water and said to me, “ there is nothing to worry about son!. It happens, Do not be afraid of that. This time you have experienced it and the next time you are here at this very same spot, you will win and you will remember what I say to you now.”. Then she left and I went back to my school with my team, thinking that I will never get to represent my school again.

Fast forward to grade 5 when again we were preparing for the WWF event. My science teacher came and said that you will be leading this project, our project consisted of 4 different station and I was leading one station, at that time I remembered what that old lady said to me. This time I prepared for everything, questioning my own presentation, speaking confidently and engaging the audience, communicating with my team and doing teamwork.
The day came and we went to the event. The atmosphere was great and we set up our project. This time I visited other projects and saw the projects and listened to the presentation, it gave me confidence and boldness and I needed that, I was ready for it and the time came and the judges were at our project and the whole team just worked so well coordinating with each other, covering the weak spots and amazingly present our project. When the judges left the counter we could see on their faces that they were impressed. I just waited and prayed that we win. The win was important for us because we wanted to show that what we presented really mattered for us and we won the fair, we could see that we had made our school proud and we were so happy. I could hear the voice of the lady in my brain.
I guess what matters in life is never giving up. The point is just to keep moving no matter what life throws at you and I am thankful to the lady for changing y perspective of failure and life.
